Beyond the
Heights is a Pakistani documentary movie which was released in March 2015,
featuring Samina Baig and Mirza Ali. This movie is directed by Jawad Sharif.
Under the banner of Bipolar Films, this movie is written and produced by Mirza
Ali who himself is one of the leading characters in this movie. Shot in the
heart of The Himalayas, the movie features two siblings who are on an
expedition to climb the King of the mountains, Mount Everest. The 21 year old
Samina Baig became the first Pakistani women to scale the height of the king of
the mountains. His brother, Mirza Ali, aged 29, becomes the youngest Pakistani
to conquer the Everest. The film portrays the hardships and the struggles that
a little village girl faces to achieve her goal of conquering The Everest. With
her true effort and sheer strength, great motivation and brother’s support, she
finally gets where she once dreamt of. She touches new horizons and scales the
new heights with true compassion and hard work. The movie was first screened on
5th March, 2015 in Islamabad and has done some good business.
