Bol, a
Pakistani social drama film, released in 2011, made a huge impact on the
Pakistani Film Industry. Written and directed by Shoaib Mansoor, the film
features stars like Humaima Malik, Atif Aslam, Mahira Khan and other renowned
stars. The story is about a religious family, living in the depth of the Lahore
city, facing financial problems. The major issue was a huge family with too
many children just to get a son after so many daughters and rejecting him
because of him being a transgender male.
The plot of the
story is that the eldest daughter is to be hanged as she killed his father when
he tried to torture them to their limits. She was trying to save his others
siblings after her father killed her brother because he was a transgender. The
court orders Zainab, the eldest daughter to be hanged till death. The media and
the others who really know the story try to save her but they couldn’t. One
famous dialogue that had a huge impact on our society was “Agar khila nai sakte
to paida kyun karte ho”.
